High school events, such as Prom or Homecoming dances, are for many young girls
one of the most exciting and anticipated evenings of the year. For some girls, this night is unable to
become a reality as a result of economic circumstances. The Bra Recyclers are excited to announce our newest partnership with
Becca’s Closet. Becca’s Closet is a nonprofit organization in Florida that provides formal attire to high school
students who otherwise would not be financially capable of attending their prom or homecoming events. In addition to providing
formal attire, Becca’s Closet also provides scholarships to deserving high school students to aid them in their pursuit
of higher education.
Becca’s Closet has local chapters located
across the nation. What is unique about Becca’s Closet is that each chapter is lead by students themselves, supervised
by adults, and affiliated with a school, community organization, church or temple.
As part of our partnership with Becca’s Closet, The Bra Recyclers will be launching a bra drive
to raise strapless and halter style bras to provide to girls who are receiving dresses from Becca’s Closet this upcoming
Prom season. Stay tuned to Facebook for more details on how you can help make a young girl’s dream of attending Prom
this spring a reality.

Have you ever wondered what happens to the fruit that is on trees in your backyard or the backyards of your neighors? Well
most of it just rots, which is such a shame because it can be used by deserving members of our community.
The Lemon
Lady (www.thelemonlady.blogspot.com) has started a bitter sweet movement to create awareness in our communities about harvesting
all of the fruit in our communities and sharing it with food banks and those in need. It is such a waste to let that fruit
go bad.
I was truly inspired by this story because there are so many ways that each of us can assist others in
our communities, I am recycling bras and Anna Chan (The Lemon Lady) is recycling lemons. Please visit her blog to learn more
about what she is doing:

Have a fantastic week!
